💰The most expensive mistake investors make

Hi there,

When people ask me about investing, they usually focus on what to buy.

The better question is often: When should I start?

Because after years of investing, I've learned that your biggest advantage isn't picking the perfect stock. It's time.

In fact, the difference between starting at 20 versus 40 can be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Let me show you what I mean.

Imagine your goal is to retire with $1 million.

If you're starting around age 60 and want to get there quickly, you'd need to invest an enormous amount every month.

At 50, that number drops significantly, but it's still a major commitment.

By age 40, it becomes much more manageable.

And by age 30? You can often get there by investing an amount that many people spend on takeout, subscriptions, or a few nights out each month.

The really crazy part is what happens when you start in your 20s.

At that point, the required monthly investment becomes surprisingly small because compounding has decades to do its job. That's the lesson most people miss.

We tend to think wealth is built by investing huge amounts of money.

But more often, it's built by giving your investments enough time to grow.

Every year you delay, you're asking future-you to contribute more money to make up for lost time.

Every year you start earlier, compounding does more of the heavy lifting for you.

That's why I started investing in my late teens.

Not because I knew exactly what I was doing.

Not because I had a lot of money.

But because I understood that time was something I could never get back.

And honestly, that's the biggest investing lesson I can share.

Don't wait until you have more money. Don't wait until you feel like an expert.

Don't wait for the perfect market.

Start with what you have. Even if it's small.

Because becoming a millionaire is often less about investing huge amounts and more about giving compound interest enough time to work its magic.

Time isn't just money. For investors, time is the entire game.
