💰The biggest money lesson I learned last year

Hi there,

As an immigrant who came here young and later became self-made, I’ve learned a lot of lessons the hard way. But if I had to pick the biggest financial lesson from last year, it would be this: Think in decades.

That single shift changed how I make decisions about money, work, and even my health.

For a long time, it’s tempting to think short-term. One big investment. One burst of motivation. One lucky break. But that’s not how real wealth is built. What actually works is boring consistency.

If you want to invest, don’t ask how to make the most money fast. Ask what you can do every single month for years. Maybe that’s $100. Maybe it’s $500. The amount matters far less than your ability to stick with it.

Compounding only works when there’s something to compound. Investing once and forgetting about it doesn’t change your life. Showing up month after month does. Adding a little more each year does. Letting time do the heavy lifting does.

I realized this applies to everything. If you want better health, don’t chase extreme routines. Do what you can sustain for years.  If you want wealth, don’t chase hype. Build habits that last decades.

That mindset shift changed my behavior completely. I stopped optimizing for speed and started optimizing for longevity. And that’s when things really began to stack.

The lesson is simple, but powerful: do things you can keep doing. Over time, that’s what changes everything.
