💰The best investment I’ve made in myself

Hi there,
One of the best investments I ever made wasn’t a stock. It was a plane ticket.
This was right after I started creating content. Things were picking up. I was growing fast. And someone asked me if I was going to a conference called FinCon.
I hadn’t planned on it. I didn’t know anyone there. I didn’t have a clear goal. I was honestly nervous. But something told me to go.
So I booked the flight. Paid for the hotel. Showed up uncomfortable.
Before the event, I did what I always do. I planned everything. I mapped out every session I was going to attend. Every talk I was going to sit through. I thought that was where the value would come from.
That’s not what happened. Instead, I met people.
Founders. Creators. Operators. People further ahead than me. People thinking bigger than me. Conversations replaced my carefully planned schedule. And those conversations changed everything.
My network expanded overnight. My perspective expanded even more.
I learned about scaling. About brand deals. About health. About relationships. About long-term thinking. Things no session agenda could have given me the same way. That one decision compounded.
Opportunities came from those relationships. Business ideas sharpened. My confidence grew. My standards rose.
Looking back, the return on that investment is impossible to calculate.
It taught me something powerful: sometimes the best investment isn’t information. It’s proximity.
You can plan forever. But clarity often shows up once you move.
That conference reminded me that growth happens when you put yourself in rooms where you’re not the smartest person there.
That flight was expensive at the time. Now I see it as cheap.
