Hi there,

A lot of people think staying broke comes from not making enough money. Sometimes that’s true. But honestly, I’ve also seen people making good money stay financially stuck because of the habits they normalize.

Wealth is often less about one big decision and more about the small things draining your money every single month.

Here are 8 things that quietly keep people broke:

  • Luxury cars: one of the fastest ways to destroy your cash flow. Huge payments, insurance, depreciation, maintenance, it adds up.
  • Drinking alcohol constantly: nights out, drinks, hangovers, lost productivity… it’s expensive financially and physically.

  • Getting pets you can’t afford: pets are amazing, but they’re also expensive. Food, vet bills, emergencies, and insurance are all extra costs.
  • Designer clothes: a lot of broke people buy designer to look wealthy. Truly wealthy people usually care more about assets than logos.

  • Gambling: casinos, sports betting, online gambling… the odds are literally designed against you.
  • Buying coffee every single day: one coffee isn’t the issue. The daily habit is. A good coffee machine at home saves thousands over time.

  • Smoking and vaping: expensive habits that also damage your health long term. You end up paying twice: now and later.
  • Eating out every day: convenience is expensive. Cooking even a few more meals at home each week makes a massive difference financially.

Now, this doesn’t mean you can never enjoy life. You don’t need to become obsessed with saving every dollar.

But you do need to be honest about what’s helping your future… and what’s quietly holding you back. Most people don’t have an income problem first. They have a spending and discipline problem.

The good news? Habits can change.

And small changes, repeated consistently, can completely change your financial future over time.
