💰Can money buy happiness?

Hi there,
No one really talks about how much financial stability affects your mental health.
When you’re constantly worried about rent, bills, food, or unexpected expenses, your brain stays in survival mode. It’s hard to relax. Hard to think long-term. Hard to feel at peace.
And with inflation, rising housing costs, and the economy the way it is right now, a lot of people are feeling that pressure. I understand that feeling personally.
Before my family immigrated here, my dad was unemployed. My mom was making the bare minimum stretch as far as possible. Even after we moved, financial stability didn’t happen overnight. I grew up watching what financial stress can do to people.
Which is why I’ve always found the phrase “money doesn’t buy happiness” a little disconnected from reality. Because while money won’t solve every problem, it absolutely changes your quality of life.
It gives you options. It gives you time. It gives you breathing room. And peace comes from that.
Once I became financially stable, I noticed the difference immediately. Life felt lighter. Decisions became less emotional. I wasn’t constantly thinking about survival anymore.
That’s a huge part of why I care so much about teaching personal finance now. Not for the flashy side of money, but because I know what it feels like to not have stability.
And I also know how much your life changes once you start building it.
That’s why I always encourage people to focus on the fundamentals early: saving consistently, investing consistently, building toward that first $100K, and giving yourself a foundation to grow from over time.
Because the goal isn’t just to make more money, it’s to build a life where money causes less stress. A life with more freedom, more security, and more peace of mind.
So do yourself a favor and start today. It’s simpler than you think and, best of all, free!
