💰5 mistakes scarier than Halloween

Hi there,
Halloween is just around the corner. And while everyone is getting ready for scary movies, haunted houses, and costumes, I want to talk about something that scares me a lot more.
The financial mistakes that quietly cost people thousands of dollars.
Because here's the thing. Most people don't lose money from one huge mistake. They lose it slowly, through habits they barely notice.
And the scariest part? A lot of these mistakes are completely avoidable.
Here are five I'd watch out for:
1. The credit card debt that won't disappear.
Carrying a balance on a high-interest credit card can cost you hundreds or thousands in interest. Pay your statement balance in full whenever possible, and prioritize paying down expensive debt.
2. The savings account earning next to nothing.
If you've worked hard to save $10,000, why leave it sitting in an account earning almost no interest? A competitive high-yield savings account could help your money grow while keeping it accessible.
3. The subscriptions haunting your bank account.
That $15 subscription you forgot about? It's $180 a year. Go through your statements and cancel anything you're no longer using.
4. The insurance bill that keeps creeping up.
One of the easiest ways to potentially save money is comparing car insurance quotes.
Don't assume your current company is giving you the best deal just because you've been with them for years.
5. The money you never invested.
This might be the scariest one. Every year you put off investing is another year your money misses out on potential compound growth.
You don't need to start with thousands. Even $25 or $50 a week invested consistently in diversified, low-cost index funds can make a difference over time.
Here's what I've learned from building wealth in my 20s.
The biggest threat to your financial future isn't always a bad investment.
Sometimes it's the small decisions you keep putting off.
So this Halloween, enjoy the candy, costumes, and scary movies.
Just don't let these money mistakes follow you into another year.
The real financial horror story is looking back five years from now and wishing you'd started today.
